During this COVID 19 pandemic all of us are looking for ways to stay healthy. Since there are no approved medicines available to treat this virus, it is imperative that we do all we can to boost our immune systems and remain virus free. We strongly believe that there are laws of health, that if followed, will help us remain healthy and strong. These “laws” are pure air, sunlight, temperance, rest, exercise, proper diet, water, and trust in divine power.

Nutrition

 

Eating fresh, healthy food is a great way to boost your immune system.  Foods high in antioxidants will also bolster immune function.  Garlic will help boost your body's natural immune function.  What else is recommended and/or discouraged?

Exercise

 

Moderate levels of regular exercise reduce our susceptibility to illness. Exercise causes changes in antibodies and white blood cells. It also helps flush germs from our system. Our lungs, muscles, and vascular system are all improved by regular exercise.

Water

 

Adequate hydration has a huge impact on your immune system. Water helps all of your body’s systems function at optimum levels. Drinking plenty of water flushes toxins and ensures that your cells get all of the oxygen they need to function as they were meant to.

Sunshine

 

Sunshine is a known pathogen killer. Plus, sun exposure is an easy way for most people to get Vitamin D that our bodies need to reduce the risk of many diseases. Adequate Vitamin D also helps to modulate the immune system.

Temperance (Abstinence)

 

Temperance means to avoid substances that can harm us. It also means to use even good substances in moderation.  Avoid - Alcohol and tobacco consumption, even in small amounts, are known to increase the risk of multiple types of cancers and other illnesses.

Fresh Air

 

Breathing fresh air strengthens the immune system. White blood cells fight and kill pathogens (germs). They need enough oxygen to work and function properly. Fresh air cleans your lungs. 

Rest

 

Sleep deprivation can lead to a multitude of diseases. It also decreases your white blood cell count (those good cells that fight off germs).  People who sleep well have  significantly better immune function than people with insomnia.

Trust (Mental Health)

Fear, anxiety and stress can chip away at mental health and easily lower immunity and even physical health. Trust in Divine power in times of uncertainty can bring peace even during difficult circumstances.
